The Last Friday

The Last Friday is a poetry editing group. Once a month, we post a poem and then offer feedback to the other poems on the Forum. We're a friendly but honest group. We value each other deeply and desire for every poet to be published or become famous.

Hello.  I am tormented by poetry.  I would welcome help in managing the affliction.  What is the forum protocol?

    Welcome

    Hi Karen

We typically post a poem to the forum around the last Friday of the month.  We will read others' poems and offer our insights.  The poets are free to incorporate or ignore all or any of the comments.

I suggest adding a comment in the title (of your post) about the focus you'd have us examine in the poem:  (i.e.  I'm working on image, rhyme, meter, music, tone).  That will help us address the specific area on which you want feedback.

We're a friendly group that offers honest feedback about what we read.  Our hope for all of us to be published as regularly as Dewell.  Smile

    Great to have you aboard

    Todd

p.s.  It can take a bit of trial and error before your posts are as you like them.  Don't be alarmed, we all went through it.

I was happy to read the first poem posted!  I feel like someone at a party with nothing to say, but determined to talk anyway.

Any tips on formatting?  I experimented with posting a poem, but in Preview it stretched from here to next Sunday.  My font in Word was Arial 10 point, no spacing.  I notice if I simply type, the formatting is fine, but I would like to paste my poem to avoid typos.  Any advice is welcome!

Thank you for inviting me to join this forum.

I find that if there are formatting issues from WORD:

    1.  Type in Word

    2.  Copy and paste the WORD text into NotePad or WordPad

    3.  Copy and paste THAT version to LastFriday

Let me know how it goes.

    Yay

Notepad seems to be the Great Equalizer in the software world!  Thank you, I'll give it a go.
