“For they are not all Israel . . . .”  – Rom 9:6

Stooping on one knee, The Lord of Hosts
cupped dust, pressed it to the other hand,

time after time again until satisfied. Thinking
it good, He arranged them in companies

and legions, but they were all one color.
Knowing this was no mistake, He looked

one way then the next and chose
dusk, and mid-day, and setting, and rising

(trusting four would be good). He watched
what they would do next.

"For they are not all Israel . . . " Empty Interesting...

They are not all Israel.  Not all believers is how I take it.  They may be of one color, but we look closely to find the believers.  Is that what you are saying? God did choose them, but not all have chosen God's way, not all have chosen God's plan for salvation.

He chose, then decided what to do next.
Like in a relationship.  It's two-way, if there is a relationship.

Not all are children, simply because they are the seed of Abraham.  He looks to see their choices, behavior to see if they truly are of Israel.

The times of day:  are these the times they pray???  I have no clue.

Poetically, I follow.  Good job.
He separates His behavior from theirs, as He should.  He is not shilly-shally or confused.

Nice work.

Pat,

Thank you.  I was hoping to identify colors with the "times of day."

Bless you

"For they are not all Israel . . . " Empty Then what might be helpful to me is for you to say

something like this:

and legions, but they were all one color.
Knowing this was no mistake, He looked

one way then the next and chose
four tints---dusk, and mid-day, setting

and rising (four would be good).
He watched what they'd do next.

I thought about the color wheel.  All colors are displayed by the times of day. It's a good idea.

I like the epigraph being added.
