Holiness as the Sand
“around noon, suddenly, out of heaven, a considerable light flashed all around me” Acts 22:6

I had to be led to a bed.  
My pedigree and quick rise 
to Pharisee fame meant nothing, 
less than nothing really.  Dung.  

My ears were sharp.  That mouse 
in the ceiling.  A snake below 
the mattress.  Footsteps at the door.  
Visions in this three-day night-- 

a certain disciple, Ananias. 
A thud and sleeves that reek 
of camel and prayer. Heat. 
Hands. More heat. Then ripping 

the silence those words, 
“Brother Saul” and fire from heaven.

I keep reading it to find something that is out of line or something.
Nope. I love the short lines/ short sentences/ power packed words.  Wham! wham! wham!
I smile at pedigree, dung, three-day night, camel and prayer.  Applause!  Heat. Hands. More heat.  Yes!
I love it.
Closure is perfect:  "Brother Paul"...  
Oh I might drop "those words"...I'm just thinking they are not necessary.  It's perfectly clear without those two words.
But really, it's good all the way through....
