He came on at 7:30 a.m., weekdays.
If there was silence in the house
or my hands were washing dishes,
I’d pause and turn the knob
to hear words
like the noise of a long black train
I could count on.

I am not sure if there are any markers to connect this to Dr. Stanley.  Does it matter?  I find nothing amiss in this poem.  Well done.
